The versatility offered by the waterjet cutting process eliminates the adverse affects experienced with "heat source" cutting methods. There is no "recast layer" from which cracks could propogate. There is no change in the material properties.

Waterjet cutting is ideal for heat sensitive materials, the waterjet is essentially a "cold cutting" process, thereby eliminating heat distortion, and other potential problems associated with fatigue failure and structural integrity.
